Family in the UK

SPOUSE, CIVIL PARTNER OR UNMARRIED PARTNER

British citizens, settled persons, refugees or someone under humanitarian protection who currently have a spouse or partner living outside the UK can bring their spouse or partner over to the UK through this visa category. The relationship with your partner must be either a marriage, a durable relationship or civil partnership. This visa is needed if you want to live with a family member in the UK for more than 6 months.

PARENTS

The UK Parent Visa is issued to parents of British citizens, settled persons or persons that have spent at least 7 continuous years in the UK. This visa can only be applied for if the child is a dependent UK resident under the age of 18. This visa is generally issued for a duration of 2 years and 6 months after which extension of stay can be applied for.

CHILDREN

The UK Child Visa allows those living in the UK with no immigration restrictions to bring their child into the UK. To apply, the child has to be a dependent child of the parent who does not live an independent live. This visa is generally issued for a duration of 2 years and 6 months after which extension of stay can be applied for.

ADULT DEPENDANT RELATIVE

This is a visa that is available for adults who are in need of long-term care by a relative who is a British citizen, settled person, refugee or a person under humanitarian protection in the UK. The adult needing care has to be over 18 years of age and suffering from a disability, medical condition or who is of old age.
