Tier 2 – Long Term work
TIER 2- GENERAL VISA
The Tier 2 General Work visa is part of the British Points Based System and is issued to highly skilled workers from outside the EEA and Switzerland who was offered a skilled job offer or a job in the Shortage List. One of the eligibility requirements is to have a job offer by a licensed UK sponsor and a certificate of sponsorship issued by the employer needs to be submitted as proof.
If you are granted a Tier 2 General Work visa, you are allowed to travel outside the UK. You can also bring dependents to the UK on a Tier 2 Dependent Visa. If you have remained in the UK for a minimum of 5 continuous years on a Tier 2 General Work visa, it opens up the opportunity to apply for an Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).
TIER 2 INTRA-COMPANY TRANSFER VISA
The Tier 2 Intra-Company Visa is a UK work visa for skilled workers working in a multinational company in a foreign country who is expecting to transfer to the UK branch of the same company. To be eligible, the skilled worker needs to have worked for a minimum of 1 year in the company. However, graduates recently recruited by the multinational company who holds a minimum of 3 months experience can also apply for this visa.
If you are granted a Tier 2 Intra-Company Visa, you can get a supplementary paid job (subject to certain conditions), do voluntary work, study, travel outside the UK, bring your dependent family members to the UK and switch to another job position within the same company.
TIER 2 MINISTER OF RELIGION VISA
The Tier 2 Minister of Religion Visa is a UK work visa for foreign skilled workers intending to enter the UK for a full-time job in a religious organisation, as a missionary, minister of religion or member of a religious order.
Upon obtaining the Tier 2 Minister of Religion Visa, you would be able to settle (upon reaching a qualifying period of continuous residence), get a supplementary job (subject to certain conditions), perform voluntary work, study, travel abroad and bring family members with you into the UK.
TIER 2 SPORTSPERSONVISA
The Tier 2 Sportsperson Visa is a UK work visa which is part of the UK Points Based System. This visa is for foreign sportspersons who wishes to move to the UK and is sponsored by a person in the UK.
With a Tier 2 Sportsperson Visa, you would be able to work for your sponsor, take up a second job (subject to certain conditions), play for your national team in the UK, study, bring dependents and travel.
UK GLOBAL TALENT
The Global Talent visa can be applied for if you work in a qualifying field and have been recognized to have exceptional talent, exceptional promise or is under the UK Research and Innovation endorsed under option.
If you are holding a Global Talent visa, you can apply for settlement after three or five years’ continuous residence in the UK (subject to conditions), work, change jobs, do voluntary work, travel abroad and bring family members with you to the UK.
